ETHNIC RESTAURANTS IN DC W/ ETHNIC ENTERTAINMENT

Wife & I are taking our teen daughter and son (17, 18) and daughter's friend (also 17) to DC for the first time. I would like to take them out to dinner at a restaurant that would be different, some culture/food that they have not experienced. Thinking Irish, German, etc. that offers ethnic food and entertainment. Any suggestions?

Try Ethiopian while you are in DC

Couple of German restaurants that I know of, but I don't think they have entertainment -- Cafe Mozart - a deli at 1331 H St NW, Old Europe at 2434 Wisconsin Ave NW and on the Hill is Café Berlin at 322 Massachusetts Ave NE. Irish pubs are around too, but haven't been to any so can't recommend.
As said above try Ethiopian food if you haven't had it. Many good Ethiopian restaurants in DC. Some good Indian restaurants such as Raskia (high end,but outstanding) too.

There are many Vietnamese restaurants in VA at Eden Center. Since you have a car that would be a great place to have VN food.

Also lots of good Sushi if that interests you.

Eden Center is incredible - feels like a slice of Viet Nam was grafted onto northern Virginia. Can't remember the name of the places we ate there but it was very good. www.edencenter.com And across Wilson Blvd is a big Chinese restaurant, Hong Kong Pearl, which really does feel like you are sitting in Hong Kong that serves excellence Chinese food, especially seafood.

You're really good with the ALL caps. Hurts my head.

I think Cafe Mozart does actually have entertainment several times a week and their food is good, that's a good idea http://www.cafemozartonline.com/zgri...nts/events.jsp

I think the suburbs have better Irish pubs than DC itself, as some of them have music but it isn't Irish. One of the best (Murphys) is in Old Town, Alexandria, that is easy to get to by metro and very close http://murphyspub.com/murphys/alexandria/music/

There are quite a few Ethiopian restaurants in DC, so if you want something different, give it a try. I don't care for it myself, and I do like most ethnic cuisines. Just found it dull and really don't like that spongy bread they serve.

There are some good Middle Eastern restaurants here and I know a really good Afghan restaurant in Bethesda, actually (Faryab), I bet they haven't had that. It's on Cordell about 5 blocks from the metro stop. http://www.washingtonian.com/restaur...restaurant.php

Lebanese Taverna for Middle Eastern is good in Woodley Park, just a few metro stops up Connecticut Ave http://www.lebanesetaverna.com/resta...hingtondc.html

They've probably had Spanish food, but Jaleo is really good and a fun restaurant near Penn Quarter, not too expensive.

I haven't been here in a number of years, but when I last went, it was a lot of fun. Moroccan food, with belly dancers for entertainment.
