Ephrata

I will be in Ephrata at the end of this week and would like to visit something cultural. I am from the area, and have done the Amish, outlets, Doneckers and the cloisters. Any other suggestions?

We once took the Strasburg Railroad train ride and had a nice lunch on board. Not particularly cultural, but fun.

On Friday or Saturday morning, visit downtown Lancaster - The Farmers Market, Heritage Center and Quilt Museum. On the way home, grab a map and take rte. 340 east to Intercourse and then head northwest back towards Ephrata on the backroads.

Since you're not getting other suggestions. How about a drive to Gettysburg? It is an easy 1.5 hour drive and can be a relaxing day when you get there.

Well, Jerry, since you're indeed from the area, why aren't you telling us what's worth seeing. What is the cloisters that you mention you "have one" if not Ephrata? We did enjoy our first time visit in Amish country a few years ago which included Ephrata, Mennonite Center, walking tour of Lancaster, etc. Surely Gettsburg is worth seeing (again).
