Eoropeans: If you HAD to live in the USA, where?

That question was asked on in the IS forum, so I thought I would pose the question to you? Or is that something you would never consider.!

I would choose somewhere near to a city. Of the places I have been to I would probably pick Boston first and Washington second.

Although I haven't been there yet, I think I could quite happily live in Seattle so given a free choice I would probably pick there.

It's a project for us and our choices are NY for 4 months(mid-october to mid-december and mid-march to mid-may)for
theater, music, jazz, and the Yankees...and 4 to 6 months in Durango(Colorado) because there is wood/water and it's near our favorite places there(Monument Valley, canyonlands, C. de Chelley,pueblos,...).
Rest of time in France during holidays if our daughters give us small childrens....
Erik and Anny.

cfc, according to Self Magazine, America's gloomiest place, at least for women, is Johnstown, PA. The happiest city for women was Asheville, NC, where I live -- Hoo-yeah!!
