Entertainment book or AAA???

Planning a trip to Hawaii during Xmas break. I read a lot of postings about the Entertainment book.

Is it worth buying the Entertainment book or take AAA membership to get discounts on the trip.

Will there be discounts during the holiday period or they are more or less for off season?

Thanks

You will only get your money's worth with the Hawaii E-book if you are willing to restrict yourself to eating several meals at restaurants in the book. Most of the best restaurants won't be in it. And most restaurants don't honor the book on holidays.

Call and check room rates telling them that you have an entertainment card. If you get a great rate that saves you a lot of money, you then have time to buy the book before you travel.

Xmas is notoriously busy for Hawaii, airfares are especially high. The airfare discounts with entertainment are probably blacked out.

I got an AAA membership before a big trip this summer and it was a big help in getting discounts at hotels and at a couple of attractions. Their free guidebooks alone were worth my membership

I have both, AAA and Entertainment Books. BUT the big saver by far is the E. Book..........if you can use it to get half-price on your hotel. Now if you're talking like Dec. 18 thru Jan. 2 or so, you will not get any discount at that time. But if you travel when you can get half off your hotel, well, I really don't care if I use any of my other E. coupons because you've already gotten the cost of the book back several times over saving on the hotel! And you usually use at least a few of the other coupons. I use my AAA discount much more here on the Mainland!

Can you please tell me how to get this E book for Hawaii???

Thanks!!

Go to "entertainment.com" - and follow the instructions. I think that will do it..........I don't think you need to add "book."

Check out www.pleasanthawaiian.com

Excuse me, CECE, but why would you direct her to the "Pleasant Hawaiian" website to buy the Entertainment Book? Did you misunderstand her question? I checked, and don't see where they sell it at that site????

I wondered the same thing! I bought my Hawaii book from 'Entertainment.com' for $35.00, and saved many times over what I spent for the book. You know there are places that will honor the Entertainment card that are not listed in the book. Sometimes you just need to ask a particular hotel!

Check out the AOA card at www.maui.org.
They have pages of discounts at different islands and the websites for most of these. We were able to take more boat trips using this card, than we normally would have.

I booked the Embassy Suites Maui for half price with the Entertainment book, paid for itself several times over.

Hi...good question regardling discounts during Christmas break...highly unlikely. It is high season & you'll find discounts only on a standby basis. I'd expect you to always get a AAA break, but that is not as good as Ent. Perhaps someone with an Ent book will look at the coupons & see if there are blackout dates, I think there will be.
Have a great trip. Aloha, Linda

If you haven't already purchased the 2003 Entertainment book, they are running it for $5 off during September.

Woops! Forgot the $5 off link:
http://www.travelcouponsonline.com/e...upon-book.html
