enoa tours on Oahu
 

We are considering the enoa Royal Circle Island Tour on Oahu in July. We aren't renting a car on Oahu so we are thinking this will be a good way to see the island. My understanding is they make stops at several places so you aren't on a bus riding all day. The other tour we are considering instead is the hummer tour. Anyone been on either of these and can offer any suggestions one way or the other?

Is there a reason why you are not renting a car? I would highly recommend it, if you can.
It will give you more freedom to explore and go when and where you want.

I don't know anything about Discover Hawaii Tours or the Hummer tours. I think OVERALL, the difference between Roberts and E Noa comes down to price (which you know up front) and the quality of the tour guide (which you won't know till you get there). One thing I like about E Noa--but I'm not sure if they do this for a Circle Island Tour--is they use open-air trolleys, which is a nice touch in Hawaii.

I think E Noa Tours uses buses for everything except their Waikele Outlet Tour.

They are small, 25 passenger buses.

Rent a car if you can. You can go where you want & stay as long as you want on your stops.

dusty, I think you are right....I was focusing on their Waikiki Trolley (http://www.waikikitrolley.com) which I use, not the parent company (http://enoa.com) which offers other products.

I would imagine renting a car for 24 hours would be about the same as taking a tour and tipping the tour guide. The price of gas - freedom to fall in love with a beach or site and hang for sunset.....or the thousand other scenarios.

Some people don't want to drive on vacation ... or at least minimally. Too many morons on the road and it seems to be getting worse.

Also, I get more out of sightseeing when someone tells me the "story" behind what I'm looking at. I liked the tour in Nashville, the Ducks in Boston, the Riverwalk boat ride in San Antonio, The guided walking tour on the Freedom Trail in Boston, the guided tour on the Contitutional Walk in Philadelphia, etc. At the Field Museum in Chicago, we we looked at an Egyptian exhibit and shrugged our shoulders. Then we took a tour of the exhibit and were overwhelmed by the amount of info we learned.

Appreciate your recommendations on driving, but looking for feedback from anyone who has taken one of the circle tours.
