Embassy Suites - Washington DC
 

I've seen many posts that recommend Embassy Suites at $150 per night.
I'll be in DC April 18-20 looking for a Suite for a family of 5. Any suggestions?

I'm assuming you have already checked this out for yourself, but none of the Embassy Suites in D.C., or the nearby suburbs will have rates that low during Spring Break. I would imagine that you'd have to double your budget to stay in an Embassy Suites on those dates.

For a suite around $150 for those dates, you'll need to stay in Chantilly, Leesburg, Dulles, or Potomac Mills area. All of these locations would require that you rent a car and drive to DC (and then pay for parking). I would figure out the cost of renting a car, driving, and parking (not to mention the time you'll spend waiting in traffic) and add that to your nightly hotel budget. I do tend to think longhorn is right, though...that you're going to have to double your budget for a suite in downtown DC during your dates.

idk if you are still looking, but there is an embassy suites in old town alexandria that is 160 per night. we ride the metro from reagan to kings st station and the hotel is right across the street. we then access all of dc from the metro, no car needed. good luck

Next time I go to D.C. I will do exactly what lorey just suggested. Last time I went in Feb. and I did Priceline, because that was the only venue to get a real low hotel price.
Hotel prices, anytime of year, in D.C. are HIGH, IMHO.

If you want to get a place near the Archives or downtown D.C. (Metro goes EVERYWHERE- you do NOT need a car)- do hotwire available (you know where you are going to be -straight price- not bid)or bid on hotwire or priceline. Or try quikbook. It's better than the rack rates that the hotel websites list. MUCH.

And you can do that for 5 and require suites, as well. They do have them listed.

Realize that the King Street Metro can be a bit of a haul from the main tourist attractions and not good for someone who may want to go back to your hotel with a tired kid in the middle of the day.
