Embassy Suites, Maui

My husband and I have reservations at the Embassy Suites in Maui for May. Has anyone ever been there? We were hoping for the Marriott Ocean Club, but with our timeshare, the Embassy Suites came up available first. I would appreciate any opinions that anyone has.

Thanks, all.

The Embassy Suites are that--suites. The units are large and spacious, great if you have kids that want to sleep in a separate room from parents. The Marriott Ocean Club is in a better location inside the Kaanapali resort and within walking distance to the shopping and restaurants, and nicer beachfront. Rooms are smaller. I'm not sure, but I thought part of the Marriott was going through some major renovations. Does anyone know?

We stayed there four years ago and loved it. The waterslide is a blast! The lobby had parrots and other talking birds with which we loved to visit. The service was exemplary. Our room was large and tropical with a great bathroom (lots of marble, separate tub and shower). In the mornings, I could go into the living area, brew coffee, and read or watch t.v. while my family slept in the next room (you could close it off). The breakfast every morning was included - not fancy - but great crispy bacon and enough choices to please us for a week.

We will be staying there for 4 nights in a couple of weeks - can let you know on our return. Let me know if you have any specific questions.

Hi, we stayed there with our kids in August 2004 on a timeshare trade. Yes, we too would have preferred to be on Kaanapali but it seems like folks always get Embassy over that location when trading. It was a nice resort, spacious rooms, good value with the breakfast and the free valet parking, manager's cocktail party with snacks every night. It's a good location because it's halfway between Lahaina and Kapalua and only a five minute drive to Kaanapali (park in the Whaler's Village parking garage). One note - they only give the rooms with ocean views to owners, we were out of luck, however, the mountain view wasn't that bad.
