Embassy Suites in Maui

I've read about several Maui hotels on this site, but has anyone stayed at the embassy suites? I'll be in Maui in April with my family and would appreciate hearing of others' experiences with this hotel.
Thanks, Natalie

I know how you feel. I really like Embassy Suites too. Did a lot of research when we went. Did not stay. Beach not good there. Property not in any particularily nice area. You feel like you are driving into an apartment, housing survey that is not too nice looking, and there is the entrance to the Embassy. Do you need a condo? Am familiar with hotels, not condos so much. What about the condos in Wailea-the Elua I believe. Feel free to email me for further questions Annemarie
Stayed at Embassy Suites last year. It is not what you would call a luxury property even though it is considered high end. However, it was perfect for our family because the two room set up allowed us parents to have a private room. And better than a condo because the resort property kept our kids busy. They loved the pool although the waterslide is not too impressive. True that the beach is not first rate, but we found the property comfortable, the staff friendly, and the included breakfast was extremely convenient. We could be done with breakfast and on to other activities while guests elsewhere where still in line. Overall, I'd say it was an excellent family choice for those conveniences. Would not have found that combination at a condo. Happy to answer any specific questions.

Hi--I am a travel agent from Boulder, CO and took the family to Maui at Christmas a few years ago. I do ALOT of research, and decided upon Embassy Suite with the family for the convenience, location, space, etc. It worked great--breakfast was quick and easy, and PAID FOR! Food is very expensive on Maui. Location was a bit away from Kanapali Beach area, which was very congested. There was a deli, small supermarket, videos, etc. right at the resort, and all could be charged to room. I thought the area was very nice--rooms are spacious, and the bathrooms are huge, for some reason! You won't get all the resort conveniences and service at a condo. Beach was O.K., and our kids enjoyed swimming. I toured a lot of other hotels, and for the money, I still think Embassy Suites is the way to go for families on Maui. Oceanview would be nice, but we made due with mountain view to save some $. Good Luck!
Thanks for the help! I think we will stay at the Embassy, but snorkle at Black Rock (and some other places), and visit some of the other resorts. Aloha!
