embassy or doubletree suites chicago??

Hi,

Could you tell me which of these hotels are nicer with a nice pool and breakfast? We have children 10 & 12 and are going to chicago in may so they would like to swim. We had stayed at the omni and the pool was more like a lap pool. Thanks for any feedback.

Susan

We stayed at the embassy on state street. The location is not as good as doubletree on delaware. The pool is small at embassy, the pool at doubletree ia very cool. There are floor to ceiling windows at doubletree which you can see Lake Michigan very neat effect. Stay at doubletree. PJ

Stayed at the Embassy in Chicago and the chemicals in the pool ruined everyone's swimsuits. Took two letters to Hilton's (which owns Embassy) headquarters to get any relief-so much for their satisfaction guaranteed policy. Also, hotel was under staffed. If your'e looking for a great pool-see what the Intercontinental has to offer. It has the most incredible indoor pool-huge-olympic size. Great location also, but suites may be pricey.

Stayed at the Doubletree in December - it does have a very large pool, surprising for a Michigan Avenue hotel, I thought...and it's on the top floor. (Since our room was directly under it, I found this a little worrying, and kept my eye on the ceiling for any drips....!). But be sure that the D'tree is going to give you an adequately sized room to accommodate your family. Our "suite" was a twin-bedded, not-really-large corner room, with the dresser bi-secting the "living room" area from the bedroom side. Not a true suite, by Embassy Suite standards, for instance. But it was P'line and served our purposes just fine.
