Elton John at Caesars Palace
 

Is anyone interested in tickets for the opening night of Elton John at Caesars Palace on Feb. 13? I have extra tickets that I would like to sell. Inquire at [email protected].

You will get to see me on the Las Vegas video at the Elton John show. They filmed me playing the slots and roulette.

Are you still planning to go? How did you end up with extra tickets?? What price? Are you selling below cost or at cost??

You will just have to guess which one is me. They filmed the video at the Flamingo in early December. The roulette part was staged for the video.

The tickets are now on EBAY. What doesnt sell will be sold direct for $450 a ticket. they are for 2/13 opening night. they are Orch 2, 6, & 4 seats. Rows O , M, & J respectively. Up to 8 seats together. $295 face value.

Has anybody seen his show yet? How was it?

One of my partners just returned from LV and saw it. He is not a rabid EJ fan and thought the show was outstanding. He commented that the theater acoustics and video support were especially good.

I was there last Saturday Night. It was an incredible show. 90 minutes of pure Elton. I would also like to add that now with Nigel Olsson back in the band as drummer, it couldn't be more like the "old days". Worth every penny. Get the program at the Elton John Store at the entrance to Caesars. It's $4 cheaper than at the show.

Do you think it is worth the extra money to spring for the more expensive seats?

It's a relatively small venue, with good seats everywhere. I guess the question is, do you want to go to watch and listen to the show or to be part of the show and experience the show. I know that sounds lame, but if you've ever been to an Elton John show, I think you'll understand what I mean. I sat right up in front.

I would want to experience it. I am a HUGE Elton John fan. Did you like sitting right up front?

Yes, I loved it. It was especially memorable because up until 1975, I had gone to every single EJ concert in L.A., including the infamous 1970 Troubadour gig. (During the show, he mistakenly said he did that gig in September -- it was August 25th for several nights).

I was to the right of the stage (Elton's piano is to the left), but it depends on who you want to see. If you sit to the left, you can see EJ play the piano, see his hands on the piano (although if you're too far to the left, you will see mostly his back and side). Also, to the left, you get a completely blocked view of Nigel and a partially blocked view of Davey. I like to see the whole band. I was able to see EJ's face, but not his hands. If you are in the first or second row, and are quick enough, you will be permitted to briefly dance onstage during Saturday Night. You might as well go up and dance, because there's so many inflatable objects onstage during that song, you can't see anything at all (that is, no Elton, because he's surrounded by dancing people, and no band member because they're surrounded by inflatable fruit!).

The band is superb, and he has his famous mixer, Clive Franks, mixing the show, so you know it "blends"! Very nice to see Nigel back with the band.

I took too long to consider the consequences of doing that (i.e., would I get kicked out for the rest of the show), so I missed the opportunity. :(

One more thing, up close, you should be able to snag one of the big pink balloons with a younger Elton's face on it. They come floating over the audience and at the end, they are kicked off stage to the first couple of rows!
