Elephant Man Preview on Broadway with Bradley Cooper
 

I am considering buying tickets to the PREVIEW of Elephant Man starring Bradley Cooper. Since the cheapest tickets run about $100 a piece I wanted to ask if anyone has any insight as to whether or not Bradley Cooper would be performing each and every time - particularly during the "preview". I realize no one can answer this definitively but I welcome any insight or thoughts! Also interested if anyone has ever seen this play performed and can offer

I'm pretty confident that you're pretty safe that you'll see him in every performance. He's the driving force in bringing this revival to Broadway, and I doubt very much if he'll miss any performances unless illness or injury forces him out.

He first performed this role in Massachusetts a couple summers ago, and I believe the production got good reviews.

And his name is above the title, so, technically, you can get a refund if he doesn't appear. But as Howard said he's really the only reason the show is playing, so it's highly unlikely he'll miss a performance.

I see "most" shows on Broadway and to be honest, haven't booked this one yet and probably won't. I've seen several productions of the play and it just isn't my "cup of tea", but I have a feeling this will be a splendid production of the play. The role he is playing never fails to impress!

Just in case anyone is contemplating going to see The Elephant Man, I did end up going and enjoyed it. It was very expensive for what it was (extraordinarily simple play with a handful of actors and very little props), but what the heck...you're in New York seeing a big name actor. It was $150 a ticket after fees and we were literally the last row in the orchestra seating along the aisle on the left side. The seats were actually just fine since it's such a tiny theater.

It was pretty cool after the show because Bradley Cooper (and the rest of the cast) came out and took pictures and signed autographs. We got our playbill signed by him and he took a selfie with my wife which was a lot of fun! The last part made it more of an exciting experience...if we just saw the show I would say it was "interesting" more than it was incredible. And I'm someone who really loves good acting. I have to hand it to Bradley Cooper for doing something so different given his stature and he clearly was emotional about it.

Well I admit I would like a selfie with Bradley :-) We were toying with getting tickets to this for our time in NYC after Christmas but ended up purchasing for if/then because like Patrick my husband was not overly interested in the play.
