Elderhostel
Heads up: the Elderhostel now DOES NOT have age requirement, now they accept everybody as long as people understand that most of their clients are elderly.
I believe "elderly" is the wrong word. "Over 50" (or is it 55?) would be more accurate!
I just called Elderhostel. The age requirement is 55. ((^))
Only one person in a "couple" or "significent other" couple has to be 55 to qualify for their trips.
I have gone on many of there trips in US. Have been assigned a roomate as it is cheaper than single rate. Never had a problem with this process or the accomodations. One of the lodging choices was a beautiful condo in the beach in Oregon--5 days including most meals was $600. I just wish it could be called something other than "Elder"hostel. Even though I am in that age group I don't feel elderly. In fact I have some "non-elderly" friends who would have trouble keeping up with some of the participants.... Try it you'll like it... |
Jed, before posting this message I got an e-mail from them, and then called to verify. They took off the age requirement for under 21. Maybe not all agents know it? Try to send them an e-mail if you want to go but are under 55 like I am.

Faina, is it still a BYOD (Bring Your Own Depends) affair at ElderHostel?
BB I have no idea as I was too young for that crowd. I will remember to let you know personally if I try one of their programs. If you depend on Depends pack them in your 22' with the medications. You can always recycle and use the space for the souveniers to bring back. Hope I've answered all your questions and addressed all your concerns :)
