econy hotel in downton Seattle
I am looking for an economy ($100) in downtown Seattle. Any suggestions?

The typical suggestion is to use Priceline.com. If you bid for a 3* hotel you could most likely get something for under $100 (maybe not July-August) - way nicer than a budget hotel - though it could wind up being near Seattle Center and not as close to the core as you might like; or it might have $20/night parking! If you can deal with being slightly further from downtown, the Lake Union zone in Priceline offers some nice hotels (Residence Inn, Courtyard by Marriott) for sometimes really cheap prices, at the 2.5 star level.
Search this thread for "priceline" or go to BiddingForTravel.com or BetterBidding.com for more info on how to use it. |
If price is your only consideration, check out King's Inn which is beyond dumpy but has a great location: 2106 5th Ave--(206) 441-8833.
If dumpy isn't your thing, the Holiday Inn Express at 14115 Aurora Avenue my have a good rate. It is near Seattle Center (Space Needle, etc.) and less than a mile from the retail core. In lower Queen Anne, check rates at The Mediterranean. It is in a bustling neighborhood within walking distance of downtown. |
Here are more ideas.
The Warwick is a good hotel in a great downtown location that sometimes has very good rates. Other economy hotels include Best Western Lowyal Inn, Eighth Avenue Inn, and Executive Hotel Pacific. |
It also really depends when you are coming. On a winter weekend, you may have good luck just checking with the hotels mentioned here. I have a bunch of family coming in June and they've been pricing hotels and many mentioned in this thread, like the Holiday Inn Express, are closer to $200. So they'll be trying Priceline, which people have good luck with when visiting Seattle.
