Eating inexpensively in and around Bar Harbor
 

Any suggestions for good value restaurants? Won't be cooking or picnicking. Restaurants only please. Thanks in advance.

If you are on Rt 1 on your way to Bar Harbor, in Stockton Springs before you get to Ellsworth stop at Just Barb's. It's a local place and very good.

Pick up the Bar Harbor Times when you get there. There are many restaurant ads and you can find early bird specials.

We thought Jordan's was great and a good value for breakfast, also had a good breakfast at Cafe This Way. We enjoyed the barbecue at the brewery. Although we didn't go there this year, last year we had a lobster dinner special at Poor Boy's that was a good deal.

The Chart Room in Hulls Cove (about 10 minutes from Bar Harbor) has great lunches. Dinners are a little pricier, but still not outrageously so. Plus it is right on the water with a great view.

dfnh - thanks for the mention of Just Barb's. We drive by it all the time on our way to our vacation home in Surry and I have always wandered what it was like. Maybe we'll have ot make a point of going there for dinner one night this winter when we are in town.

loved jordan's! if you are going around now, it would be the end of the season, so most things should be inexpensive.
