Eating in San Diego

Any great spots in San Diego? I do have a 2 year old so nothing too fancy.

If you want something definitely NOT fancy, try Bronx Pizza on Washington St. in Hillcrest. Good NY-style pizza slices, several varieties.

Andrew
Point Loma Seafood. Yum! Not fancy at all - counter service.

Give the Olive Garden at 585 I Street in Chula Vista a try. I think they have child portions, too.

if you want a good pizza, go to mountain mikes on clairmont drive - just a few block up from the visitor's information center in mission bay. the green flash on pacific beach is good and there will be enough activity around you to keep your kid interested.

I live in SD & have a 2 yr old also. We like Islands, it's a small chain here. They have fantastic burgers, chicken sandwiches & salads & awesome fries & shakes. It is casual & fun, they have TV's with surfer videos showing. There are several around.
California Pizza Kitchen is good too. They have pizza like Thai Chicken and barbecue chicken pizza. And great salads too. There are several around.

Have a great vacation!

I don't live in San Diego but have been a few times...

Just FYI, Mountain Mikes and California Pizza Kitchen are both chains. I had Mountain Mikes at another location and it was just OK but VERY expensive for plain-old pizza. California Pizza Kitchen was better - not exactly "fancy" but not dirt-cheap either.

Bronx Pizza (not a chain as I recall) is by far cheaper but is true "NY Style" pizza (slices), which I personally love but some people don't get. San Diego isn't really your pizza destination anyway, but wouldn't you rather visit a unique little pizza joint with good pizza than two chain restaurants?

Andrew
Any Little Italy or Old Town that isn't too dress-up?

We went with kids in April and they loved the Spaghetti Factory. Fun and very reasonably priced. Also, any restaurant in Old Towne.
