Eating in Oaho

We are going to Oahu in two weeks for a very short spur of the moment trip with 4 nites at Kahala Mandarin. We would like some suggestions for meals, some at the restaurants at Kahala Mandarin. We like food, period, whether very upscale restaurants or sausage on a stick from a street vendor. Please suggest. Also, would appreciate reviews of restaurant at the Kahala Mandarin.

My favorite is Michel's. Has good food with the BEST sunset view. It is not a far drive and outside of Waikiki.

Make sure to request beachside seating. They will not guarentee, but will note it.

I miss this every year but last year "ALAN WONG'S' was listed in the beards selection of top restaurants around the country. I would certainly go here. You also have Roy's, 3666 on the rise, A MILLION OTHER PLACES. Michel's does have a great view but I have not sampled the current chefs food.

Ohau has the absolute best selection of restaurants in the island. OK GREAT NOW I AM HUNGRY!!!! Thanks a lot!!.

You just have tremendous choices all over the island low and high scale. You want to do an archive search here for the many different options out there. I would certainly pick up a zagats Hawaii also.

You don't want to skip China town either but you need to read about it and go to one of the top restaurants like Seafood Kingdom or another one famous for Dungass Crab, can anyone help me on the name? Melissa are you out there? I think you sent me to this place first.

As for the Kahala Mandarin they have a jkfs kicking Sunday brunch. I went to it about 5 years ago. Since that time I have yet to find a brunch that rivals it. I am still searching but no luck!

But I would not pass up the incredible culinary choices on Oahu for the same or similar chef of the hotel. For me eating out is what a stay on Oahu is all about!
