Eating in Maui, Hawaii
We will be visiting Maui next week. Anyone has any recommendations for good eats? Anything from great mahi-mahi burgers to fantastic haute cuisine?
|
John, my best meal was at Nick's Fishmarket. Go to mauimenusonline.com They have excellent selections. Enjoy!
|
John, Our favorite place to eat was Honokowai Okazuya and Deli. It is located outside of Lahaina at 3600-D Lower Honoapiilani Rd. Phone #(808) 665-0512. We can't wait to go back.
|
Roy's! We regret that we did not go there last time we were in Hawaii.
|
Mama's Fish House in Paia--it's the best!! Check out their web site
|
Haliimaile General Store - Haliimaile
Joe's Bar and Grill - Wailea
SeaWatch - Wailea
Jacques on the Beach - Kihei
Hula Grill in Whalers Village in Lahaina. Great food, exceptional sunsets, nightly entertainment. Also Kimos in downtown Lahaina for great food and sunsets.

thanks to all for the comments-
For a truly memorable Hawaiian experience, try Mama's Fish House on the North Shore. Also try Haliimaile General Store in Haliimaile.
|
For cheap eats, Maui Tacos (numerous locations) and Alexander Fish and Chips in Kihea.
|
For breakfast go to Buns of Maui in the
Old Lahaina Center for the best cinnamon
buns. For dinner try Casanova in Makawao an old western style town well worth the drive. Terrific Italian food.

I completely agree with Linda. Her four choices are my four first choices. On a much less elegant level...I love the sourdough cheeseburgers at Jack in the Box.
|
Our two favorites were:

For dinner, Hula Grill (best calamari I've ever had -- encrusted in coconut).

For breakfast and lunch, an inexpensive little takeout place called Maui Bake Shop. Amazing pastries (the only better ones I've ever had were in Paris) -- try the "french toast" which is like egg custard baked into a croissant. Also very good sandwiches.
