Eating in Las Vegas........
 

Another birthday rolls around~we are going to Las Vegas to celebrate.Staying at Bellagio.Been there before,<BR>I would like to know if anyone would recommend any "good" restaurants for dinners.We have reservations at Circo.Anyone ever eat at Onda or Picasso?What about off the strip? Any ideas will be appreciated~Thank you~C

Several good restaurants at Bellagio. Picasso was a bit overrated IMO.<BR>For a number of useful reviews of LV restaurants by self proclaimed foodies, go to www.chowhound.com

Can it be that no one has any ideas about good restaurants in Las Vegas? There is plenty about all you can eat buffets, does no one eat at the better places? <BR>I would recommend:<BR>Circo at Bellagio<BR>Emerils at MGM Grand<BR>Prime at Bellagio<BR>Napa at the Rio<BR>

C: I can only top for you, as the only restaurant that comes to mind at the moment is California Pizza Kitchen, which is the last thing you want for your birthday! But they make the best chopped salads! Maybe you can have it for lunch during your stay. I believe it is at the Mirage....<BR><BR>Happy Birthday - Wish you Luck!

Can't believe you got so few replies. We ate at Circo and Red Square (Mandalay Bay), and definitely preferred Red Square (food, atmosphere, service, and of course, their vodka selection!).

There is a Thai place in town,Lotus of Siam, I wonder if anyone has eaten there also...This is a case of knowing the names, I would just like to hear experiences...not just reviews.Thanks again,C

You'll love the Bellagio. Picasso has 2 or 3 fixed priced meals. So, if you like what they are serving that day, you're in luck. Better yet is Prime--just across from Picasso. Circo is better for dinner than lunch--try to get a table near the window to view the fountain show(s). <BR><BR>If you like lobster, there's always The Palm in Caesar's Palace.<BR><BR>The Venetian has a bunch of well known restaurants too.

as a las vegas novice i hesitated to reply, but seeing the sparseness of responses i'll add my 2 cents.<BR><BR>while in vegas last month i ate at olives (bellagio), mon amie gabi (paris), wolfgang puck's postrio (venetian), the lux (or something like that in venetian casino), cheesecake factory (caesar's palace forum) and a couple of less party-atmosphere places. <BR>of these, the innovativeness and quality of food were best at olives. the highlight, recommended in advance by a friend, was the fig-and-prosciutto flat pizza. second in quality and innovativeness was postrio, where the seafood tortellini and flourless chocolate tart were very good. atmosphere of both places was outstanding, altho olives gets the edge for elegance and overlooks bellagio's shooting fountains, while postrio in st mark's square across from the canal in venetian is under that fake sky and so kind of al fresco.<BR><BR>btw, if u're into chinese noodle soups, my best tip is the chinese restaurant off the casino at mandalay bay--way better than 'noodles' at bellagio and anything i've had in hawaii!

Hey~thanks,this is more like it!<BR>We have had lunch at Olives before and yes- the flatbread pizza is great! but never had dinner there.We were at Circo last Aug,will be there this trip too..the service and the food has been great every time .. I was wondering about Postrio. will have to check into that ... being a weekend,we need to do this booking now. <BR>by the way-we upgraded the room to Lake view instead of "pool" when a poster here said that meant a view of the highway..(this has all the makings of a trip report!)

CPK in Las Vegas? Get real.....(McD's in Paris?????) Drai's in the Barbary Coast casino across from Bally's is fabulous. Bon Apetito!

sdk-I have a feeling that those are just folks being funny...at least I got a laugh out of California Pizza Kitchen,although who knows? that might be the best salad in town!<BR>I always go to Spago for lunch,and the Rio has a fabulous seafood place called Buzios.<BR>The places named here are pretty good, I would also be interested in hearing about any off strip restaurants.Any one hear of an Italian place called Annabellas near the Desert Inn?THanks,from me too!

If you go to chowhounds.com, you will read more about Lotus of Siam than you ever thought possible. That is definately a place that I want to try next time. Not on the strip, though.<BR><BR>I loved the food at Paris myself. We had the most delicious breakfasts there ( at 2 different spots in the casino) and the dinner places look good, although I haven't tried them.
