Eating in Balboa Park, San Diego

Can you picnic in the Starlight Bowl theater? If we ate @ the Prado, how far is that from the theater?
thanks

Here's a map of the park. The Prado rest. is marked with a yellow i. The Starlight Bowl is at the bottom, #26.

Don't know about picnicking.

I don't remember seeing people eat in the Starlight Bowl. I think people picnic before the performance begins. It's set out like a regular theater. You know that planes fly low overhead coming in to land, don't you? When they do, the acting on stage freezes until the plane passes by.

The Prado restaurant is walking distance to the Staright Bowl. here's a link to a map of the park. If you click on "handy map" it brings up bigger version that is easier to read!

I had to stop and do something in the middle of posting this and fortunately mclaurie has posted the link I forgot!
