eating at Abe & Louie's - Public Transport from outh End

I want to book a dinner at Abe & Louie's in Boston one night. I'm staying at the YWCA in Berkeley St (South End, I think).
Is it going to be easy to catch a train there and back?
Thanks!

Unusual combination - staying at the YWCA and eating at Abe and Louie's - but I think you are serious.

There is not a convenient or practical train/subway connection. There are 2 bus routes that would work (go to MBTA.com - they have a great route search feature where you enter Point A and Point B and they give detailed directions on public transportation.

It is about 3/4 of a mile walk - I would walk. I would consider the walking route reasonably safe if you take ordinary big city precautions (and from previous post it seems you are 3 adults travelling together).

Or take a cab - could not possibly cost that much for such a short distance.

I agree, just walk. It will only take 10-15 min. I suppose you could take the T one stop from Arlington to Copley on the green line if you're really opposed to walking but, really, it's not that far.

I love Abe & Louies! And staying at a Y is a good way to afford to eat at nice places, isn't it?

If you're going for dinner, I'd walk there, and take a cab home. I'd guess it would be about $7 or $8.

I agree with walking. And if you have uncomfortable shoes, then just grab a taxi.
