Eateries near Seattle's Pikes Place
Will be in town for a conference and need ideas for lunch/dinner spots near PP - not too foo-foo/upscale - good burgers, sandwiches, salads...thanks

Pike Place Market is loaded with options, but "burgers" doesn't bring anyplace special to mind.
Cutter's Crabhouse might be the ticket for you. They have a popular happy hour with an amazing $5 menu that includes a hamburger.. Von's (famous for food of the kind you want) has recently moved to 1225 1st Avenue, which is the south end of the market. HTtY |
Google Tom Douglas Restaurants. He has a couple there. Just walk thru the market and get what looks good to you, plenty to choose from right there.

IN the Pike Place Market I like: Emmett Watsons Oyster Bar, Pink Door, Kells Irish Pub, Market Grill (a sandwich stand near the pig statue), Pike Place Chowder. On 1st Avenue just 'above' the Market I like: Bacco, Le Pichet, and the Virginia Inn. A bit futher up 1st is Frontier Room BBQ and Ohana tiki room. On 2nd Ave (but now we're a bit far from the Market) Mama's Mexican Kitchen and Rocco's Pizza are both classic.

If the Skillet food truck is nearby, they have world-class burgers.. Seriously. Another to try is the Maximus/Minimus pig truck--great pulled pork sandwiches.
