Easy Nature Walks on Oahu

Hi, can anyone recommend some nice and easy nature walks on Oahu? We'll be taking our two 2-year olds on these walks, so nothing rugged, just some nice easy trail walks.

Also, I'd like to hear some opinions on whether or not you think the Manoa Falls hike is doable with the two little ones? I've heard it's an easy hike...but, little kid easy?

Thanks for your help!

Waimea Valley Audubon Center is an 1800 acre park with a beautiful walk to a waterfall where you can take a dip in the icy pool. (It used to be called Waimea Falls Park.)

Regarding the Manoa trail, there are some tree roots growing across the trail and it's narrow at points, but just use some caution and I'm sure the kids would be fine.

Manoa Falls trail would be OK. The trail is being made easier with volunteers re-building the trail. Should be completed by October.

Makapuu Lighthouse trail is OK. It's paved almost all the way. Great for viewing whales December through April.

Lyon Arboretum near Manoa Falls.

Kapena Falls - easy 1/4 mile trail. Leads to three small waterfalls. Trail starts right behind the Pagoda in Oahu Cemetery.

Close to Kapena Falls is Liliuokalani Gardens with a small waterfall.

Dole Pineapple Center doesn't really have trails, but you can walk quite a bit through their pineapple exibits and the garden tour. Also a nice carp (koi) pond.

Byodo-In Temple (Valley of the Temples) has some nice easy walks. Kids like this place. Has a huge gong, black swans, ducks, koi, small stream, peacocks.

Haiku Gardens in Kaneohe. It is near Byodo-In Temple. It is right below Haleiwa Joe's Restaurant.

Jackass Ginger Trail. This one I have not been on:

Other botanical gardens on Oahu and other islands:

This probably doesn't qualify as a "nature trail", but the Honolulu Zoo is nice to stroll through.

I second the Lyon Arboretum. Another spot near Downtown is the Foster Botanical Gardens-- as dusty says, not quite a trail but a nice easy walk.

Thanks so much, lots of great info. Will surely keep my boys plenty busy and interested in Hawaii's lovely surroundings. Much appreciated. :)
