easter time get a way

I know that I am driving you people crazy but my life has been crazy. My dad, who lived and traveled with us,passed away last week.

I realy don't want to spend easter at home.
i live in central NJ.

where can you suggest we go for a couple of days to have fun?
we are two adults and 11 and 13 year old

Thanks

melissa

Contact a travel agent and ask for them to check for last minute openings for Easter packages... often times there are unsold or cancelled bookings on charter trips that may even be discounted... we have found amazing deals at all-inclusive resorts, vegas, cruises and islands in the past... the key to savings is that it is a confirmed trip for a charter group on a plane that has seats open and they are trying to fill the openings... you must be totally flexible on choice of destination...good luck!

Sorry about the loss of your dad - if I remember you were seeking info here to take him on a trip - must be very sad.

You might have to better define "fun", since it is likely to be different for pre-teens and adults. Back page of Sunday NYTimes travel section always has last minute deals on 3-4 night trips, including air.

This year Passover is just before Easter and week after is school vacation week for much of New England - so that may cause higher than normal occupancies at some places.

I'm so sorry your Dad passed away. There's a special bond between a father and a daughter.

If you don't mind driving, come to the Eastern Shore of Maryland. It's lovely in April.

My husband and I spent last Fri. night at the Hyatt resort in Cambridge, MD. We saw lots of families. They have an indoor pool, spa, 18 hole golf course and it's located on the water.

St. Michael's, Oxford and Easton are short drives from Cambridge. All are charming little towns. Annapolis is about 90 mins. and it's full of history.

Friends of ours just returned from Cancun and received a great deal at a major resort. Air, lodging and food were included.

Good luck in making a decision.
