Easter in New Orleans?

I have been in the city for the Tenn. Williams Fest., French Quarter Fest., and "random" other Spring weekends, but never over Easter, until this year. What can I expect? Low crowds? (Just asking because room rates are pretty low that weekend.) Any special events?

Thanks,

Chazz

The Crescent City Classic takes place on Easter Saturday. We saw it last year and was something different to see with the U.S. Marine Corp band entertaining in front of Jackson Square. This is a marathon race and last year the runners about died from the heat and humidity. I'm thinking the race had about thirty thousand runners but my memory might be wrong! Great time to visit New Orleans as the crowds are not large. We plan on visiting again over this time this year!!

I'm also planning in being in NO this weekend for the first time, and in my research, found out that there's a big huge gay parade for/on Easter. Not sure where it will be, but sounds like something to see!

The parade isn't that big or that great. See it if you're in the area but you'll be disappointed if you make a special trip.
