East Coast

My husband and I are planning a short vacation on the Eastern Seaboard. Anyone have a ideas for a really nice time? I don't want to hang out on the beach - I want to see beautiful sights or go to a really fun place. Thanks.

You do realize that the East Coast stretches from Maine to Florida? Could you be a little more specific about what part of the East Coast?

There are no places on the East Coast that meet the very specific criteria you have laid out here. In particular, we have nowhere that is "a really fun place."

Not sure what part of east coast you want to go to, but in my travels have enjoyed:

- Acadia National Park, Maine.
beautiful, quiet, seashore, waves pounding, etc.

- Charleston / Myrtle Beach area.
lots of old plantation homes / history in the Charleston area.

Williamsburg, VA makes a nice trip. The town is beautiful and charming, and there should be plenty to do and see there to occupy you for a few days. As far as vacations go, it's not all that expensive, either.
