Earthquake in IL felt in Indiana!

Waking up to your bed shaking at 4:47 in the morning was freaky. My cat was howling about 2 second before I felt the rumbling... anyone else in Indiana feel the ground move?
I live about 20 miles from Chicago.

Well, if that isn't the cat's meow! ((*))

From Evansville to Madison in Indiana the earthquake was felt. I'm still in Germany but pleanty of my friends at university (USI) couldn't wait to tell me they survived their first earthquake. My parent's live 3 hours from Evansville and they also said it rattled the house.

We had a 4.9 here in Reno last night that woke me up, the house was rocking. We've had a lot of them lately, but his is the first one I felt.

I felt the Illinois earthquake in southern Michigan. I think I was already awake and then felt it. My husband didn't wake up. A friend told me that she hadn't realized the "shaking" was an earthquake. She thought it was her husband turning over in bed. It was fairly slight here, of course. If I hadn't already been awake, I doubt it would have wakened me.

Indiana is nothing - the same earthquake was felt all over east Tennessee! Reports came in from all over about people waking up to beds, china cabinets, etc. shaking. My husband and I slept through the whole thing, but my parents - who live near the Tennessee/North Carolina line - both woke up.

I woke up because I thought my husband was shaking the bed because I was snoring too loudly. But he was fast asleep. I didn't understand it until the next day!
