Early mornings in NYC

An article on things to do/places to eat in the early morning in NYC.

http://travel.nytimes.com/2008/05/04...04weekend.html

The only thing I thought was missing is that most coffee shops are also open early.

If you aren't reading this regular series in the NYTimes on activities in the city, it's really great!

GREAT article! Thanks for posting it.

I actually think it's a really poor article not just b/c they leave out the fact that most coffee shops are open at that hour, but people are often looking for things to do before 7:30 and there are dozens of places that are open 24/7. The flea markets open at sunrise on weekends.

Fleamarkets are a good thought, McLaurie. And I have fond memories of strolling in Central Park (especially the formal gardens) before 7.

When I travel and rise early I like to walk about a city before the noise and the crowds gather.

There are many 24 hour places open all over the city.
