Early March weather in Denver?

We're worried about snowed-out flights... Any idea of how bad it *usually* is during early March in Denver?

Thanks!!
Erika

March is typically Denver's heaviest snowfall month, but it's really hit or miss. It could snow one day and be bright and sunny the next.

In normal years, March can be great! We get dumped on one night and it gets to the 60s the next day with a bright blue sky! This year is a little iffy, due to it being colder than usual. Last night we received two inches of snow, but by Friday it is supposed to be in the 40s.

March is our snowiest month. And this winter has been terribly cold and miserable. But the airport rarely gets "snowed out." We have been getting snow every few days since November (Almost unheard of on the plains of Colorado)- but usually it has been just a skiff - less than an inch. I've only heard of a couple of times that the airport has "closed" for an hour or two - but I don't believe there have been any real headaches at DIA. You should be fine - just bring lots of warm clothes - if you do that is almost a guarantee that you will get 60 degree weather and sunshine!! Have fun!
