Early December/Christmas Atmosphere/Family Friendly from ATL

Thinking about a weekend getaway from ATL early December to get in the Christmas mood. Pretty decorations/roaring fireplace/maybe nice music...nothing too cheesy. Maybe a lodge or hotel that does it up nice... or maybe renting a house near a town that dresses up for Christmas.

Ideas?

? Savannah or Charleston.

Or do you want to fly someplace north?

Ammlia Island, FL - A nice b&b/inn right on the water with a great big fireplace in the lobby.

Not sure if this is too contrived for your taste, but my sister and family rented a beautiful log cabin one year and went to the Smoky Mountain Winter Fest. She said the lights were worth the trip.

Asheville -- Biltmore -- you must see Biltmore all dolled up for Christmas.

Definitely Asheville.
Consider the Grove Park Inn.

Another option closer to Atlanta would be the Ritz Carlton at Reynolds Plantation on Lake Oconee.
