During Registration did anyone lose their unique screen name?

I've been seeing posts from individuals whose names I recognize but the posts do not reflect any of their posts from before registration. Anyone forced out of their original screen name?

Not me;)

Utahtea

I do wonder what ever became of ttt. He/she was a BIG poster before the registration.

LOL!

Utahtea

Ha, very funny. : ) I noticed that posts with your screen name remained consistent after registration but there is one particular name that I think was lost due to an abrupt change. I don't want to say in the event this person has changed their opinion and is obviously entitled to do so.

What happened to me was, I tried just using my screen name from the previous unregistered site: Darvy. However, the registration system seemed slow and screwed up. At one point it froze or gave me an error message. So I tried it again and it said that Darvy was already used (probably found the one I tried entering originally.)

So, I tried logging in with just Darvy - didn't work. So I created a new screen name: Darvy Kuntz (my full married name)

over n out

Please Suzie...just a hint. I know one who definitely lost his--noticed it just as soon as the other person started posting with it--it was obvious it wasn't the same poster.

OO It is possible that this person may not have necesarily "lost" the original name but goes by a shortend version and then someone else highjacked the name knowing the name's history. But as I said before, it is possible that this person has changed a basic opinion and that's perfectly fine.

I thought I'd wait till the last moment to register, then one day I saw somebody using my name and e-mail, one of those imposters! Got scared, registered right away :) It's mostly slow and boring after the registration, after all 300 posted their free gift announcements.

I've been here forever

Dayle Mar 18th, 2003 05:07 PM

I use by own name. It's quite unique enough thanks to Mom.

Darvy_Kuntz Mar 19th, 2003 09:23 AM

Dayle, do you have a cold?

grubb Mar 19th, 2003 09:30 AM

Darvy -
too funny! if she did have a cold, she would have thanked Bob...

I was able to register all three of my screen names :)

grubb Mar 19th, 2003 09:33 AM

one i use seriously, one i use for anonymity, and one i use for silly or stupid (on my part, not other's!) remarks...

i believe 'there are no stupid questions'... except my own!
RNC Mar 19th, 2003 09:37 AM

I kept all three as well. One for politics(guess which one),one for travel, one for fun.

luna Mar 19th, 2003 09:38 AM

I used to post as ja, but as I have a handle on another travel BB that incorporates luna, I decided to be consistent.

Scarlett Mar 19th, 2003 09:47 AM

I kept mine and a couple of others in case I wear out my welcome as Scarlett:)
I do know of one case where someone was posting under initials, someone in a stalker mode took that screen name and tries to post as the original poster..there are still troublemakers here!
Hi Luna! I liked ja's postings:)

Dan Mar 19th, 2003 10:29 AM

The Union Square basher who likes to act the fool on the San Francisco boards stole a couple of screen names previously used by others. Pretty childish if you ask me.

Suzie Mar 19th, 2003 10:34 AM

It's interesting you say that Dan. It's also the whole SF vs SJ thing too.

Scarlett Mar 19th, 2003 10:58 AM
I wonder it it is the same person. I looked up the one that I know about and they have only posted a couple of times, as someone else. Wouldnt be so bad if they hadn't done this before.
Creepy~

Nope...still stuck with the same ol' Kalvin Kahunaski.
