Dupont Circle restaurants
We will be staying in the Dupont Circle area at the St. Gregory Hotel. Looking for recommendations on restaurants in the area- breakfast and dinner. Looking for more casual, moderate priced, quaint, and usually like to stay away from chain restaurants. We're pretty much open to any type of food except sushi. Any ideas?

Hi, we were recently in Washignton . In that area we had a very nice simple dinner consisting of the best pizza I have eaten in a long time, a good green salad and a decent desert. Pizza Paradiso, is a good place , simple but with some charm, located in an old townhouse. 2029 P st. NW
For breakfast give it try to
Krammer Books 1517 Connecticut Ave.

Definately Luna Grill on Connecticut Ave. They also own Mimi's on P Street. Other good places to eat around the Circle are Firefly (although may be a little pricier), Thaiphoon, and Zorba's (Greek).
A couple of blocks away is Annie's Paramount Steak (reasonably priced steak house) and Dupont Italian Kitchen (serviceable Italian). Both are on 17th Street, which is the heart of gay DC so you need to know that many of the patrons will be gay.
The St. Gregory has a good restaurant (Donna's) and very close are Miewah and Grillfish.

For breakfast, dont miss Teaism at 2009 R st: Best breakfast in town and under $10 person - also a great lunch spot. For dinner, try the Brickskeller Saloon at 1523 22nd st. for great food (eclectic)and just the right beer to go with it. If you find yourself on the 17th st restaurant row, check out the menu at Skewers, 1633 P. st. (middle eastern).
