DUMBO Gallery Walk
 

Hi all,
I noticed in the Gallery Guide that there is a 1st Thursday DUMBO Gallery Walk on November 5th. Have any of you gone on this particular gallery walk and if so, would you recommend it? We're going to be in Manhattan then and were looking for something to do that night. Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

You'd probably like it. It'd get you beyond SOHO and Lower East Side. Not sure if you've been to St John the Divine but that night they are having this Tennessee Williams induction into Poets Corner

Me again. Actually Thurs night is pay what you wish at the Museum of Art and Design at Columbus Circle and their current exhibits - especially the Paper Art and Madeline Albright's pin collection are awesome (AND you can always eat at McGhees and maybe some of the AOL refugees will find you.

I do not know what is currently in those galleries but the area is filled with emerging artists.

Hey!!! I get beyond SOHO and the LES!!:) We went to St John the Devine a few trips ago, and it is really amazing. The Museum of Art and Design exhibits look good, I especially like the paper cuts. (McGhees is a thought...)

When you went to St John the Divine, had they finished the renovation? Was the whole church open? If not, you need to go again.

The Church was open, but it was still being renovated. It was really beautiful,though. I think they had folding chairs for the congregation instead of pews at the time.

There are scores of galleries from top floor to first in the 500 blocks of the West 20's.
