Dumb hotel room amenities question

Most nicer hotels provide bathrobes and slippers. I know the robes are usually for sale. What about the slippers? Are they re-used? Disposed of?

I would disagree that "most nice hotels" provide slippers. Even bathrobes are slowly disappearing from the scene. Only the very top resorts and hotels do this anymore. As for the slippers, they are usually disposable.

I have on occasion taken the slippers as I always assumed they were disposed of after use. I think it's more common in certain countries to see them. In China, even moderate hotels provide them.

I don't know how anyone uses those slipppers - they always seem to be about a men's size 14.

Well look at the bright side -- somewhere in China is a sweatshop where all the workers think Americans are a race of giant mutants with huge feet..

I like the towels

Several hotels where I've stayed have left a card in the slippers saying that they are yours to keep. I would imagine they toss them otherwise.
