Duluth MN Superior WI lodging info needed
 

Planning on two nights in the Duluth area August 24 and 25. Really would like to be close enough to the lake to have a view. However, prices in Duluth Canal Park are steep. What about Superior? Do any of the places near the lake have a view and how is the area around there?

May have to go away from the water. Any ideas? Saw the BW Downtown Duluth listed. Any personal info? A couple of the cheaper places in Duluth are said to be in an "industrial area" and I don't think I would be comfortable there.

Your help would be very appreciated.

What price range? The Inn on the Lake is nice. I have stayed there several times and it's close to everything, so no gas costs!!!

I always book hotels on Priceline and I have not been disappointed yet. I just got a 3 star in Minneapolis for July for $65. Try that or - I just saw that Edgewater on London Rd (Duluth) has rooms for $99 + tax. I have stayed there. and also Fairfield Inn (just before you come into Duluth ($109) plain but ok.

Just realized that a friend of mine often stays at
Willard Munger Inn. check it out on the net. Nothing fancy. Rates good.

In Superior, on the lake is this hotel, I know it's pretty location, don't know about the hotel itself.

I personally would bid on Priceline as I often get the Holiday Inn downtown, the Radisson or Sheraton. All have lake views and none are too far from Canal Park. When I have stayed in Canal Park, I have gotten the hotels from the hotel website. I don't know about Superior hotels, but I personally would not stay there if I wanted to be in Duluth.

Even an "industrial area" in Duluth would be nicer than most in Superior, unless you have a great affinity for seedy bars.

Barker's Island is a bit of an exception, but you're still better off with the Priceline suggestion.
