Dulles-Baltimore

What's the best way to travel (except taxi) from Dulles Airport to Baltimore. Plane lands 19.00. Can I get a train/bus or do I have to head into DC first? If I hire a car at the airport can anyone recommend a place to stay overnight on the way to Baltimore?
Cheers.

Not positive if this applies to Dulles but there are definitely super shuttles (blue cargo van) that ferry people between BWI and National / to and from home, etc. They probably run from Dulles too.

If you put "Dulles" or "BWI" in the search field you will find numerous post on this question. That way you will have several options. Good Luck

can't completely answer your questions but ...
There is no train to Dulles.
Driving from Dulles to downtown Baltimore is about 1 1/2 to 2 hours - pretty easy route - Dulles airport highway to Beltway to 95N. Since it's such a short trip - not sure why you'd want a hotel.
Could take a taxi (about $45) to DC then a train to Baltimore.
I'm not sure the Washington Flyer still goes runs - that was a bus. There may be other buses that go into DC.

It shouldn't take you much more than an hour to get from Dulles to Baltimore. by 7 o'clock rush hour traffic has pretty much thinned out unless there has been an accident or something. I recommend taking a shuttle from the airport but I'm not sure what it would cost (>$50?)

To Dulles just from Old Town Alexandria costs about $45 on the Super Shuttle, so I'd imagine Baltimore is at least $70.

Also, I've never taken the Super Shuttle, but I hear horror stories all of the time of people spending 3-4 hours on board, while they've taken all over the area.

I believe that the Dulles Flyer has a bus that runs from Dulles to BWI. Not exactly downtown Baltimore, but maybe it runs there, too.

For ease, I would rent a car at Dulles and drive to Baltimore. By 7pm, the traffice will have thinned out and should take 1 1/2 hours max. You should not need to stay anywhere along the way; if you do, just stay by Dulles airport and do the drive the next morning.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info!
I knew I should have flown to BWI!!
Anyway, I think I may head into DC for the night and take a train into Baltimore on the Sunday or Monday.
Thanks again.
