This is from the MetLife Stadium website:

http://www.metlifestadium.com/A-Z-index.php#Cameras

"Handheld digital or film cameras are permitted inside MetLife Stadium as long as their use does not interfere with the game or other guests' enjoyment of the event. Tripods, monopods and cameras with a lens longer than 3" (detachable or non-detachable) will NOT be permitted into stadium. Video cameras and video recording of events at MetLife Stadium are prohibited."

So measure your lens!

I wonder if the new dSLRs capable of HD video will be banned.

I am not sure what pictures you will get, even if you are seated on ground level.

My daughter went to a ball game in Tampa (Yankees vs Tampa) and used a Canon DSLR with a 55-250 lens.

She got great shots.
