Dry Creek Kitchen - worth the money?
One more question for you very helpful folks...My boyfriend and I wanted to splurge on one dinner while we're in Healdsburg. Originally we had planned on Cyrus, but then we decided it was just too much money, and settled on Dry Creek Kitchen. Now I am reading horrible reviews about Dry Creek Kitchen - is it even worth the money? Should we try to get a reservation at Cyrus or is there somewhere else? Thanks.

The tasting menu--7 courses--at Madrona Manor is amazing and very reasonably priced, IMO. It is in Healdsburg, but not right in town. It is a short trip, ~ 5 minutes from the center of town. One can also order ala carte if you want a smaller meal.

Sorry, this hair-trigger laptop posted before I was done. Cyrus, where we also ate, is also wonderful, but if I were picking only one and money was a concern, I would definitely choose Madrona Manor. Also, the grounds there are lovely, and the place is just so incredibly lovely. If the weather allows for eating on the veranda, it is a really special experience, kind of like as if you were on the veranda of some gorgeous old-time plantation!! That is not quite the right analogy, but it was wonderful!! Very romantic and incredible food and wine!!

We had a very nice meal at Dry Creek Kitchen, the tasting menu for 2 was included with our room price at the Hotel Healdsburg where the restaurant is located. I would return again to Dry Creek Kitchen. :)
This past March our meal at Cyrus was amazing. Excellent food and service here. Have fun! ***kim*** ((#)) |
We are local and prefer the Dry Creek Kitchen to Cyrus. Cyrus is way too expensive, IMO. I like Dry Creek Kitchen, its not perfect, but we have spend several New Year's Eve dinners with them, and at other times during the year. We have always enjoyed our meals there. I know there are others who don't feel the same way. That being said, there are lots of other good restaurants in Hbg..so explore. You'll need reservations if you are here on a summer weekend.

I loved the Dry Creek Kitchen! We have a hard time trying new places there because we love our old favorites so much. However, last year we tried Santi's up in Geyserville and it was terrific!
