The best way to plan your trip is to buy a Milepost book. It covers absolutely every mile from the Canadian border on up. It also shows little out of the way places. I believe the Milepost also has a website. Do a search under "Alaska Milepost".

By now, the Milepost hasn't a www address, but Vernon Pubs, the publisher does: www.alaskainfo.com e-mail [email protected]

The Milepost does have a web page, though it is young and has some growing to do it is still helpful, having many links to various Alaskan businesses' pages - showing photos of accomodations etc. You still need to buy the book and can order it from the site: http://www.themilepost.com/
