driving time - Rochester, ny to mont-tremblant, canada
Good morning! Can anyone give me a pretty good estimate on how long the drive is from rochester, ny to mont-tremblant, canada please? Mapquest says about 7 hours which seems awful long. I live just east of Rochester actually (15 min or so) and I can make it to watertown in just under or about 2 hours (I take 104 East into Oswego and then 81 north) and from there to the border can't be another hour which leaves 4 hours from the border (1000 island area) to Mont-tremblant which seems like a lot. I'm trying to make some plans and would like a better estimate if possible.
Thanks a bunch!

I live in Ottawa, therefore I take the back roads to Tremblant, which takes a good 1 1/2 hours, closer to 2 hours, depending on weather and road conditions. Ottawa to Syracuse is about 2 1/2, 3 on the outside. So combine that with your trip from Rochester to Syracuse....
I am assuming if you ask mapquest to give you the directions from the NY area to Tremblant, they will take you through the Montreal region; the 401 to the 20 to the 15, etc. I believe if you checked Ottawa to Tremblant on mapquest they would give you the backroads way. But it depends on how you prefer to drive. The backroads route via Ottawa is definitely small roads, windy in parts, no passing lanes etc! When are you coming? Its raining again today! Hopefully Tremblant is fairing better weather wise! Enjoy.

Thanks for the help Sherry! We are coming this Sunday for six nights. I don't mind back roads if they are quicker. I will have three 18 year old girls with my husband and myself so the quickest we can do the trip is the best! FYI, on a good expressway, in dry roads I usually drive about 75. What route would you suggest and yes, Mapquest gave me the 401 to 20 to 15 route.
Thanks!!!!!
Thanks!!!!!

I live outside of Montreal. 1000's Islands is two hours from Montreal. Montreal to Mont-Tremblant is another two hours. You might have trouble in Montreal but since you get off on 15 North I'm not sure it will be that bad. I would chance it. You are on the autoroute all the way. We went through Tremblant on Sunday, lots of snow! Have fun!!!

I would say if you are going with the flow of traffic 60-65 mph or 100-110 km you should be ok with the 4 hour time period. As far as Montreal is concerned, the 40 eastbound now has signs describing traffic congestion. This may help you choose another route if you need to.
