Driving time between Wailea and Paia?

Leaving from the Grand Wailea, how long does it take to get to Paia? Will traffic ever be a problem?

I always allow myself at least a half hour. Traffic can be a problem, especially in the late afternoon. Traffic tends to back up at the traffic light in Pa`ia and you might spend some time sitting on Hana Highway during the afternoon rush hour. If surf is up on the north shore traffic can back up quite a bit too. Morning drive through central Maui can be slow in places too, and you may encounter some delays due to the widening of Mokulele Highway, althoguh they are doing a really good job of not allowing that work to interfere too much with the flow of traffic.

It seemed like it took us 30-40 minutes. Depending what time of day you go, you could shave a few off that time. You're going to LOVE Grand Wailea and Paia is very cool.
