Driving Route Within Oahu

We will be staying at the Turtle Bay Resort on the north shore of Oahu (the opposite coast from Honolulu).

I printed out the driving directions from Honolulu from the hotel's website, and they indicate to take route H2 across the island. Looking at a map, there are three possible routes across the island 63, 61 and H2, and then of course there is the circular route around.

Since time is not of the essence in getting to the reort, we'd like to take the best route in terms of scenery and attractions, at least one of the ways. Does anyone have a recommendation on what that might be?

Thanks!!

The most scenic route, in my opinion, would be along the Windward Coast (ie, turn left out the hotel). Gorgeous beaches and dramatic mountains.

Agree with MerryTravel, and from HNL would take H1 east to 72 and north to 61 to 83 to Turtle Bay.:S-

what time do you arrive? if in the morning, not too bad....but depending on
the time of day, it could take you half the day! otherwise you could save the windward drive for the next day......

If you really want to see the "scenery and attractions" and time honestly isn't of the essence you could easily stay on H-2 eastbpound until it becomes 72 and go around the island. This will bring you by Hanauma Bay, Sandy and Makapu'u beaches, andc then along the windward coast.

Faster route would be on Rte 61, the Pali Highway, which is also a pretty drive but you won't see as much.
