Definitely do a search for the directions given by Tahquitz -- I was the person who requested them. I just got back from Las Vegas yesterday and I did the ride over the weekend. The directions were perfect and the ride was one of the more interesting ones I've ever taken. Thanks so much Tahquitz!!!!

The ghost town thing I am not so sure about, other than Calico, which is not really a "ghost town," but an amusement park. Maybe Rhyolite. Most of the worthwhile ghost towns I know of are on US 95 between Las Vegas and Reno, and of course Bodie National Park off the 395 near Bridgeport on the eastern slope of the sierra nevadas.

Thanks to you all, especially you, tahquitz - the route was exact! One thing, though, How Fast do you Drive??? it took us 5 and 1/2 hours (ok so we pranced about in the middle of the road - not for long as it was 115oF!)
Will cherish those memories for a long long time
Thanks again!
