Driving from Seattle to San Francisco
My husband and I are planning this trip in late September, I would like to go also to Port Angeles, could someone tell me how far the drive is from Seattle.
|
Port Angeles is 82 miles from Seattle if you take a ferry to Bainbridge, and it is 140 miles if you drive there via Tacoma and the Narrows Bridge.
Seattle is 800 miles from San Francisco driving on I-5, and it is 950 miles driving I-5 to Portland, 26 to Cannon Beach, and 101 to San Francisco. HTTY |
how many days do you plan for the drive??

Thanks happytrailstoyou for the info, that helps a lot.
janisj, We will have four days and nights to get to San Francisco. |
Four days seems like a lot --but isn't really. Especially if you want to see the Oregon/California coast/redwoods/etc. Down 101/hwy 1 is a full 3 day drive by itself - pretty much pushing it.
But if you just want to get to Port Angeles and then drive to SF down I-5, w/ inland stops like Crater Lake/Ashland/Mt Shasta - then your 4 days is more doable. |
If you have never seen the Columbia River Gorge, it is very much worth a look.
If your drive to San Francisco begins in Port Angeles, drive south on 101 to Astoria. Our favorite places to spend a night on the coast are Cannon Beach, Newport, Yachats, Bandon, and Brookings. I can tell you a lot more if you have specific questions. HTTY |
