Driving from Philadelphia to Charleston, SC in October

Hello,
I would appreciate any feedback regarding the best routes to take. I was told that US 17 is a scenic coastal route. Would I pick this up in Virginia? My plan is to take 95 S to Rt 1 US S and then Rt 13. Will this take me to an interchange to pick up 17 at some point? We have 7-8 days to spend so we will break up the trip. Thanks in advance!

We did that trip last year . . great route. We took 1 just south of Wilmington DE to 113 just north of Berlin to 13 at Pokemoke City.

An alteternative we will do this year is to take 55 at Philly and go thru Cape May, take the ferry over to Lewes.

13 becomes 17 south of Norfolk/Virginia Beach . . we took that all the way to Charleston.

This year we plan to take 158/168 to Kitty Hawk for something different.

Click on my name and you will see a mini trip report we did on Charleston
