Driving from LA to Las Vegas in September?

Hi All
I have had and read mixed reactions about driving from La to Las Vegas, we will be doing this as part of our honeymoon and will be there the first weekend in september? We thought it would be different and get to see some sights or scenery on the way... Look forwad in heraing other thoughts.. Thanks

Is it the Memorial day weekend? If yes Friday afternoon/ early evening will be very crowded on I-15.
The next weekend would still be busy, but not as bad. If you could leave LA at noon, it would be a lot better. FYI, there is not much scenery on the way.

We will be arriving early morning the 3rd September and will probably be on the road by 7.30.

Leaving that early morning on Labor Day/ Sept 3rd, I think you will be okay traffic wise. Later on in the morning you will see traffic going the opposite way (Vegas to LA). Have a great trip!

Be prepared for a boring drive.... unless you like the desert. Not much to look at for scenery.

Not a scenic drive like others have said. I still enjoy it but I like to take road trips with my husband. You have time together, avoid the hassel of airports etc. Make sure you have music you enjoy.
Have fun. win lots ; )

There are no sights between LA and LV. The drive is not that bad though, as long as you do it in the daytime. We tried to drive back one night after "doing" LV. NOT a good idea.

Driving to LV from LA is fine...we do it from the Central Coast all the time. What you do need to do is make sure you time it right. If you leave for home on a Sunday or the Monday holiday...leave before noon-ish to make sure you don't hit the weekend traffic leaving LV. Or leave late at night. The traffic can be horrible...I mean really bad.

Have fun!
