Driving from FLL/MIA to Marco Island
Need advise! We can fly into either FLL or MIA airports, then we need to drive to Marco Island/Naples area, this is for mid Oct. Which is closer/better? How long is the drive and is it a toll road, if so approx the cost? thanks

GoTravel is right. I prefer the Ft. Lauderdale airport for a lot of reasons and often fly in and out of there rather than our much nearer Ft. Myers Airport, but of course must use Miami for international flights.
The toll on I-75 is $1.50 each way.
I think the toll is 50 cents when you come the other way, to pay for a short segment of the Turnpike near the airport.
The route from Ft. Lauderdale is all interstate and very easy, heading south to Marco on 951 just after you exit the toll booth.
Route 41 from Miami is just two lanes, but I always make good time on it, and prefer coming across that way if coming from Miami. Some people still head north from Miami on I-75 then across just as from Ft. Lauderdale, but I find that much longer both time and distance wise.
My choice would definitely be to fly into Ft. Lauderdale (easier car pick up too).

Ooops. Neither of us told you how long it takes.
I live in "downtown" Naples and I always make it from my place to Ft. Lauderdale airport in just under two hours. It's pretty much the same from Miami airport to my place on US 41, maybe a little longer.
