Savannah, GA or St. Augustine, FL.

Both historic cities.

I have to concur with AAAFF. Those are both great cities along the way. We travel from Orlando to TN/VA often and use Savannah as a nice stopping point either coming or going. We love Savannah and have been there probably a half dozen times and always look forward to going back. St. Augustine has a lot to offer as well and we often take day trips there.

Charleston and Beaufort in South Carolina would also qualify IMO

Thanks all! We have been to Hilton Head/Beaufort/Savannah/Charleston. St Augustine sounds like something new. Appreciate your quick responses.

If you enjoyed Marjorie Kinnan Rawlins' books and/or want to see what Florida looked like as it was settled, stop by here -

A slight detour will take you here if you want to pretend your in a Tarzan movie. Consider a canoe trip -
