Driving from Boise to Yosemite
 
Any suggestions of things to do on the way from Boise to Yosemite? Best places to stay after 5-6 hrs driving?

Not a lot between Winnemucca and Reno. Find out if there is something you want to see in Lovelock.

Virginia City, NV, is a colorful place well worth a visit.

Also, if you are driving when Tioga Pass is open, stop at Bodie State Historical Park, which is a particularly fascinating ghost town.

Agree that Virginia City is worth a visit. You will have more lodging choices in Carson City, a nice rail museum and state museum as well.
If you have time and Tioga is open, highly agree with happptrailstoyou about visiting Bodie. Well worth the detour if you have time.
