driving from Atlanta to Charleston . Returning to Atlanta via Savannah
My husband and i are taking a roar trip the itinerary is :
Atlanta GA to Charleston SC
Charleston Sc to Savannah GA
Savannah to Atlanta GA
the trip to and from Atlanta is long and would appreciate any suggetions on places to visit
between Atlanta and Charleston and Savannah and Atlanta.
Also, suggestions for B&B's in the Charleston historic district under $200 a night would be great
thanks

"the trip to and from Atlanta is long "
I'm more of the "get in the car and get there" mindset.
I'm struggling to think of places to stop and visit - at least places near the 1/2way marks.
If you are going to Charleston via Columbia SC, you could take a detour in Augusta and maybe take a walk along the Riverwalk. If you want a short driving detour, get off I20 in Madison GA and drive past the gorgeous antebellum homes and maybe stop in one of the shops. If you leave Atlanta hungry, stop in Social Circle and eat at the Blue Willow Inn.
Between Charleston and Savannah, be sure to stop in Beaufort.
From Atlanta to Savannah (4 hours) I usually stop in Metter for a bathroom/walking break. Macon has some lovely antebellum homes too.
The closest to a "tourist" stop I can think of would be Juliette, GA if you watched the movie Fried Green Tomatoes. The little town (tiny) of Juliette served as a movie set and there used to be a couple of little shops there and the Whistle Stop Cafe is still serving.

I can't think of a B&B under $200 but this is an interesting special on Travelzoo -

The parking included would get you right at your $200 price point
