Driving from Atlanta to Blue Ridge
We're flying into Atlanta and then renting a car to drive up to Blue Ridge. How is the drive as far as mountains and difficulty at night? Are there any charter bus services that go from Atlanta to Blue Ridge?
Thanks for any info!

It's about an hour and 15 minute drive to Blue Ridge. Are you renting a cabin?
If your renting a cabin high on a hilltop, then I wouldn't chance it at night, otherwise you should be just fine.
I'm not sure about a charter bus service, but you would want a rental car for exploring.

We'll either be arriving at 2:00 or 5:30 PM -- haven't decided which flight to take yet. Coming back, we're thinking about an 8PM flight. With having to get to the airport by about 6:30 from Blue Ridge, will we be running into bad traffic?

I think it will be closer to 2 hours drive time. Blue Ridge is north of Atlanta and the airport is SW of Atlanta.
I don't think the drive will be bad at night. If your flight gets in at 2, get on the road as soon as possible, so you are through (or around) Atlanta by 4 or so - or you'll be in the midst of traffic. The 5:30 flight will put you on the road around 6:30 in a rental car. If traffic is bad, pull over and grab a bite to eat. We can offer suggestions on restaurants.
You'll have traffic coming back to the airport around 6:30. Allow lots of extra time for traffic - just in case, so you don't miss your flight. Take a good book to read or plan to have dinner at the airport. Paschals is southern cooking in the Atrium and on Concourse A. Chili's is a pretty good option too.
Have fun in the N GA mnts. I love it!
